Astroland

Space-age theme park opened in 1963 featuring rides such as the John Glenn Skyride and " a trip to the moon." Astroland closed on September 7, 2008 and awaits redevelopment. The Cyclone rollercoaseter is a NYC landmark and will be staying, although it was closed on the day I visited, 1 week after the closing.
