Sadly, on Friday evening, October 17, 2003, the Holiday Bowl was demolished.

The demolition of the bowling alley at 3730 Crenshaw Boulevard (the coffee shop portion of the building is being retained to be used for a proposed Starbucks) ends a three-and-a half-year effort to save one of South Los Angeles’ most significant cultural resources – a excellent example of “Googie” architecture and, even more, a revered multi-ethnic community center for the Crenshaw community.
