The spectacular Huddle Bundy was across the street from the Santa Monica Airport on Bundy Drive. The Sky Room which offered patrons a view of the planes landing resembled an aircraft control tower. This was THE place to be on L.A.'s west side back in 1955 when this Huddle location opened. The architecture team of Louis Armet & Eldon Davis were hired to design this and most of the chain's other locations. The two are responsible for more "Googie" styled restaruants and coffee shops than any other firm of the time. Denny's as well as Sambos, Big Boy and other restaurant chain buildings coast to coast were designed by this prolific duo during the 50s & 60s.
